Infineon upgrades PSOC MCU family
The Infineon Technologies PSOC 4100T Plus family of Arm Cortex-M0+ microcontrollers (CUs) combines analogue and digital blocks with high-performance multi-sense technology, including 5th generation CAPSENSE, inductive sensing, and liquid level sensing.
These microcontrollers are in stock at authorised distributor DigiKey
The PSOC 4100T Plus represents a significant upgrade to the PSOC 4 family, offering advanced HMI capabilities through multi-sense, enhanced ESD protection, and improved clock accuracy.
Infineon Technologies 5th Generation CAPSENSE technology offers significant improvements over its predecessors, featuring a ten times higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance while consuming ten times less power.
Building on this foundation, the PSOC 4100T Plus microcontrollers incorporate advanced inductive sensing capabilities, leveraging a differential and ratio-metric sensing architecture that provides flexibility in terms of sensor inductance and operating frequency.
Furthermore, the PSOC 4100T Plus microcontrollers feature a liquid level sensing technology that operates without requiring direct contact with the liquid, making it suitable for use in noisy environments. This technology can also detect different liquids while rejecting foam and residue, enhancing its overall reliability and accuracy.
High memory options, combined with SAR ADC, MCU peripherals, and multi-sense, make PSOC 4100T Plus an ideal MCU for system control plus HMI applications.
CAPSENSE Touch Sensing
The latest 5th generation CAPSENSE touch-sensing technology enables new power and space-saving designs, making it an ideal solution for wearables and other battery-powered smart device mode operation.
With always-on sensing technology, it offers extremely low power consumption in both active and standby modes, enabling a game-changing capability that helps to extend battery life.
The 5th generation CAPSENSE technology’s improved SNR performance and unique ratio-metric sensing methodology enable more compact sensors for smaller factor designs, adding support for glove touch, improved proximity detection, and gesture control intuitive sensing.
