32-bit SuperH MCU with 533 MHz clock frequency, Open VG graphics accelerator and Gigabit Ethernet controller

MSC now offers the new SH7734 32-bit SuperH microcontroller (MCU) from Renesas Electronics. The SH7734, with high-performance graphics and network functionalities, features an Open VG compliant graphics accelerator and a Gigabit Ethernet controller.

The SH7734 MCU is based on a high-performance Renesas SH-4A CPU core operating at 533 MHz and is approximately 1.6 times faster than the existing SH7764 MCU. Furthermore, the SH7734 MCU also incorporates a direct memory access (DMA) controller that supports DDR2 and DDR3 SDRAMs with a maximum clock frequency of 300 MHz. The DMA controller supports memory bandwidths up to 1.2 GBps.

By including special graphics display functions that conform to the Open VG 1.1 specification, the SH7734 MCU can implement, with high operating speed and extremely low memory requirement, visual effects such as animated displays, enlargement, rotation, deformation and color gradations in letters and numbers. Digital RGB output pins enable full-color WVGA size (800 × 480 pixels) or high-color XGA size (1024 × 768 pixels) displays.

The integrated Gigabit Ethernet controller complies with both GMII (Gigabit Media Independent Interface) and the IEEE 802.3 standard, and thereby supports data transfer rates from 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps.

The SH7734 MCUs, provided in lead-free 440-pin BGA packages, are available in various versions that differ in interface configurations and hardware features.
