HOLTEK Semiconductor's new EEPROM device, the HT24LC256, with its 2-wire serial interface has a total capacity of 256K bits arranged in a 32768 x 8 bits structure. The device has a working voltage range from 2.2V to 5.5V and a maximum operating frequency of 400kHz.
The device provides several read and write functions, supporting bit write as well as 64-bit page write functions. In addition, the device supports random read and sequential read functions, as well as having a write protect pin which if used will protect the entire contents of the device from accidental erasure. The maximum working and standby current are 5mA and 2uA respectively. The device can withstand 1 million rewrite cycles, has a retention time of 40 years and is available in both 8-pin SOP and 8-pin DIP packages.

HOLTEK can provide sample devices and already has the ability to supply the device in volume quantities. The device pin-outs and specifications are fully compatible with those of other manufacturers. The HT24LC256 can provide a high memory capacity solution for small outline product applications and will see good use in products such as smart meters, network products, large size LCD TV, smart TV remote controller, Bluetooth applications, game consoles and other consumer product applications.
