Infineon Technologies announced AMD has tested its 64 Mb HYPERRAM memory and HYPERRAM controller IP for use with the AMD Spartan UltraScale+ FPGA SCU35 Evaluation Kit, enabling the AMD MicroBlaze V soft-core RISC-V processor with cost-effective, high-bandwidth memory.

Infineon’s HYPERRAM controller IP accelerates the design process for developers by providing a fully featured and proven host memory interface. Together, Spartan UltraScale+ FPGAs and HYPERRAM memory deliver a robust platform for applications requiring I/O expansion and board management capabilities.

“The combination of our HYPERRAM memory and controller IP with AMD Spartan UltraScale+ FPGAs delivers a powerful platform that helps accelerate time to market for our customers,” said Patrick Le Bihan, Senior Director of Ecosystem Marketing at Infineon. “Together, we provide a system solution for embedded AI applications at the edge by delivering features and capabilities that meet the most important requirements of our customers.”

“Working with Infineon, we are able to provide developers with a streamlined, high-performance memory solution that simplifies their design process,” said Evan Leal, Director of Product Marketing at AMD. “AMD chose HYPERRAM to enable a balance of performance and low power consumption with modest pin usage requirements. Infineon’s total solution of hardware and IP helped enable AMD to bring the SCU35 Evaluation Kit to life quickly and enables customers to do the same in their own designs.”

Infineon’s 64 Mb HYPERRAM memory is integrated and HYPERRAM controller IP are licensed for the AMD Spartan UltraScale+ FPGA SCU35 Evaluation Kit. HYPERRAM memory delivers the perfect blend of performance, density, and power consumption, while Infineon controller IP serves as the memory interface for the MicroBlaze V soft-core RISC-V processor.
