Nordic Semiconductor is set to unveil the ‘Thingy:91 X’ at embedded world 2024, held in Nuremberg, Germany, from 9-11th April.

The ‘Thingy:91 X’ not only enhances cellular IoT capabilities but also introduces support for DECT NR+, Wi-Fi locationing, and fuel gauging. Additionally, attendees will witness an advanced Matter demonstration, emphasising the device's smooth operation within Apple and Google ecosystems, alongside showcasing the latest advancements in Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast broadcasting technology at Stand 310, Hall 4A.

Building on the success of its predecessor, the Thingy:91, the ‘Thingy:91 X’ demonstration will highlight its asset tracking features. This is facilitated by Nordic’s nRF9151 System-in-Package (SiP), a new addition that supports LTE-M, NB-IoT, GNSS, and DECT NR+ connectivity with on-board antennas. The platform's integration with nRF7002 for Wi-Fi locationing, nPM1300 PMIC for battery charging and fuel gauging, and nRF5340 System on Chip (SoC) for Bluetooth LE, Thread, and NFC will also be elaborated upon for visitors.

The exhibition will introduce attendees to the nPM Family of Power Management ICs, particularly spotlighting the nPM1300 for its efficient system management capabilities and fuel gauge functionality. Moreover, the stand will feature a predictive maintenance ML demonstration, showcasing the use of Nordic’s Thingy:53 IoT prototyping platform powered by advanced software from Edge Impulse, highlighting the seamless integration within Apple and Google ecosystems through devices from leading industry partners.

“As a pioneer of Bluetooth LE technology, Nordic has evolved into a full-spectrum wireless IoT company offering a range of solutions based on leading industry standards, including LTE-M, MB-IoT, DECT NR+, Wi-Fi, Matter, and Thread,” says Magnus Pedersen, Vice President of Sales, Nordic Semiconductor. “Our comprehensive offering at embedded world this year is our best yet and we are excited to be unveiling it at one of our industry’s most prestigious events.”

embedded world attendees are invited to Stand 310 in Hall 4A for an in-depth discussion on Nordic Semiconductor’s latest innovations, where they can explore the new horizons opened up by these technological advancements.
