Avnet Silica has unveiled a strategic partnership with Arduino. This collaboration makes Arduino's array of IoT, wearables, 3D printing, and embedded solutions accessible through Avnet Silica across the EMEA region and extends the partnership with Avnet on a global scale.

Since its inception as a straightforward platform for interactive project development, Arduino has evolved into a widely trusted choice for open-source electronics, serving a community of roughly 30 million active users. Arduino’s PRO: Edge IoT technology aids companies in advancing from concept and rapid prototyping to mass production with the backing of a certified industrial partner and high-performance technological solutions.

Avnet Silica has identified strategic importance in the Arduino PRO series within the Arduino product lineup. Through the franchise distribution agreement, Avnet Silica and Arduino aim to develop a comprehensive cloud and security ecosystem, beginning with the Portenta boards, which are based on Renesas MCUs. “Our partnership with Avnet Silica is more than a strategic alliance; it represents a union of visions that significantly enhances our capabilities. Avnet Silica's outstanding platform and expertise augment our goal to deliver an all-encompassing solution that includes hardware, firmware, security, and cloud services, whilst preserving the user-friendly experience Arduino is celebrated for. Moreover, Avnet Silica and Arduino anticipate collaboration in the realm of cellular connectivity. This alliance marks a significant step forward, merging our strengths to expedite innovation for our customers,” remarked Fabio Violante, CEO of Arduino. “

We recognise considerable value in partnering with Arduino, given its extensive user community and esteemed brand,” stated Lucio Fornuto, Vice President Technical Development & Demand Creation at Avnet Silica. “We are committed to continually enhancing our technology solution offerings, and we believe our collaboration with Arduino will amplify the advantages we provide to our customers in EMEA and globally.”
