ASRock announces iEPF-9020S-EY4/iEP-9020E series robust edge AIoT platform
ASRock Industrial announces the iEPF-9020S-EY4/iEP-9020E Series Robust Edge AIoT Platform leveraging the 13th Gen Intel Core Processors (Raptor Lake-S) with R680E chipsets for next-step performance and functionality upgrades.
The series feature outstanding computing power withenergised Edge AI acceleration, high memory capacity, rich I/Os and expandability,RF connectivity- 5G/4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, BT5.2 module, and real-time TSN/TCC enablement. All capabilities with -40°C~75°C wide operating temperature (iEPF-9020S-EY4), robust power design, and high shock/vibration resistance are integrated into a rugged design for harsh industrial environments.
The series are effective and comprehensive amalgamation for extended workloads and industrial applications such as factory automation, machine automation, robotic control, AI AOI, autonomous vehicles and smart infrastructures.
Quantified leaps in performance withEdge AI advancement
Supercharged this time by the 13th Gen Intel Core Processors (Raptor Lake-S) with R680E chipset, the iEPF-9020S-EY4/iEP-9020E Series Robust Edge AIoT Platform come with performance hybrid architecture supporting up to 24 cores and 32 threads, enabling IoT edge use cases that have 1.04x faster single-thread performance, up to 1.34x faster multi-thread performance, plus up to 1.25x faster CPU image classification inference performance compared to previous 12th Gen Intel Core processors.
What’s more, the series are designed with enhanced edge AI capabilities alongside four DDR4 memory support up to 128GB (ECC memory supported by R680E and selected CPU). In addition, the iEPF-9020S-EY4 Series’s flexible mechanical, thermal, and power design of maximum 275mm x 124mm x 60mm (L x H x D) can support up to 255W graphic cards to further power up Edge AI advancement.
Abundant IOs connectivity with TSN/TCC real-time computing
The iEPF-9020S-EY4 Series ExpandableEdge AIoT Platform are designed with flexible expansion slots while the iEP-9020E Series Compact Edge AIoT Platform adopt the space-saving and fan-less design for various industrial applications. Both series feature rich I/Os and provide up to five Intel 2.5 Gigabit LANs with two supporting PoE and one supporting vPro, plus TSN/TCC capability for real-time connectivity.
There are also up to six USB 3.2 Gen 2x1, one USB 2.0 internal connector with lock function, six COM (four RS-232/422/485, two RS-232), and eight DIs/eight DOs. Visual excellence is supported through one DisplayPort 1.4a, one HDMI 2.0b, and one VGA, with Intel UHD Graphics of up to 4096x2160@60Hz maximum resolution.
Additionally, various storage options are set up via four SATA3 (support RAID 0/1/5/10) for 2.5-inch SSD/HDD, one M.2 Key M 2280 with Gen4/Gen3x4 for NVMe SSD, and CFast (option).
Great expandability, RF connectivity, and workload consolidation
Additional sockets for RF modules are also in place on the iEPF-9020S-EY4/iEP-9020E Series to support 4G LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and BT 5.2, including one M.2 Key B (2280/3042/3052) for 4G LTE/5G, one M.2 Key E 2230 for Wi-Fi /BT module, eight SMA connectors, two Mini PCIe, and two Nano SIM card slots for option modules.The iEPF-9020S-EY4 Series are equipped with flexible expansion slots for a variety of expansion cards via Gen 4 options of one PCIe x16 or two PCIe x8, and two PCIe x4 for graphic cards, frame grabber cards, motion cards, and IO cards. The Robust Edge AIoT Platform enable breakthroughs in workload consolidation capability, replacing dedicated edge compute devices for HMI, PLC, motion and vision control, etc. to enhance efficiency and bring upgraded results for industrial use cases.
Compact design with reliable ruggedness for industrial uses
The iEP-9020E Series are space-saving in size- 202 x 244 x 108.7mm (W x Dx H); the iEPF-9020S-EY4 Series-202 x 290 x 209.3mm (W x D x H) to ensure optimal space utilisation. Featuring robust power design and ruggedness for industrial customers to deploy in rough environments, the new series support 9V~36V VDC, a wide range of power input with ignition control, and remote power on/off switch.
For high durability under stress, the series support 80V surge protection, OVP, UVP, OCP, and reverse protection. Additionally, the Series also work under a wide range of temperatures from iEPF-9020S-EY4-40°C~75°C / iEP-9020E -40°C~70°C, with high shock and vibration resistance to ensure always-on functionality in critical harsh environment.
