A low noise Voltage Controlled Oscillator from Z-Communications, Inc. (San Diego, CA) has been specially designed for the backhaul radio market. The ZRO2460B1LF is a technology breakthrough device featuring amazingly low phase noise with unmatched stability. This compact yet robust device operates from 2435-2485 MHz within a tuning voltage range of 1-10 Vdc. The ZRO2460B1LF offers superior SSB spectral purity of -113 dBc/Hz, typically, at 10 kHz from the carrier while covering the bandwidth with an average tuning gain of 8 MHz/V.
The ZRO2460B1LF utilizes voltage bias and temperature stabilization to further enhance the VCO's performance. This rugged oscillator is designed to deliver a typical output power of 6 dBm into a 50 load while drawing only 30 mA, typically, from a 8Vdc supply.
The ZRO2460B1LF operates over the industrial temperature range of -40 to 85ºC and attenuates the second harmonic to better than -15dBc. This low cost device is also heightened by its extremely low pushing and pulling specification. ZRO2460B1LF pushes less than 0.7 MHz/V within a 5% change of the supply voltage and pulls less than 0.7 MHz with a 14 dB return loss, any phase.

This ZRO2460B1LF comes in Z-Communications' industry standard MINI-16-SM surface mount package measuring 0.50 in. x 0.50 in. x 0.22 in. This exceptional VCO is ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow; it is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements.
