Fixed frequency synthesiser features ultra-low phase noise

Z-Communications’ new RoHS compliant Fixed Frequency Synthesiser model SFS11600H-LF is designed to generate an output signal at 11.6 GHz while being fixed to an external 100 MHz reference oscillator. This X-Band PLL is further heightened by delivering exceptional phase noise performance of -98 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz and -103 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset.

The synthesiser is designed to deliver a nominal output power of 0 dBm into a 50Ω load and operates with a VCO voltage supply of 5 Vdc while drawing 85 mA (typical) and a phase locked loop voltage of 3.3 Vdc while drawing 40 mA (typical).

It features harmonic suppression of -30 dBc and spurious suppression of -65 dBc. It is housed in Z-COMM’s standard SFS-L1 package measuring 1.0 in. x 1.0 in. x 0.22 in.

It is also ideal for automated surface mount assembly and is available in tape and reel packaging. The synthesiser targets test instrumentation, radar equipment and various other applications, and is guaranteed over the industrial temperature range of -40 to 85°C.
