A family of precision waveguide twists operating across seven frequency bands from 18-110GHz has been unveiled by Fairview Microwave. These twists are specifically designed to prevent unwanted distortion in the signal’s transmission and are useful for systems requiring a turn in the polarisation and waveform.

Fairview’s waveguide twists are beneficial components to have when building a waveguide system, as they allow the waveguide to be turned at a precise angle in order to meet the mechanical and electrical constraints of the overall system. These waveguide twists are also useful to ensure correct signal polarisation. Both 45° and 90° waveguide twists are available from stock, with the 45° versions offered in both right hand and left hand twist configurations.

Fairview offers more than 20 models of waveguide twists with sizes ranging from WR-42 (18GHz) to WR-10 (110GHz). They feature gold-plated brass construction that provides strong electrical performance with VSWR as low as 1.02:1 and insertion loss as low as 0.2dB. Square and circular UG-style flange types are available and mechanical length ranges from 1-2.7".

“Our waveguide twists are useful solutions for designers and engineers, giving them the most options when designing systems. This family of products is a perfect fit for our expanding waveguide product line, which is the largest, most comprehensive portfolio in the industry,” said Brian McCutcheon, Vice President and General Manager at Fairview Microwave.
