The CLV0989A-LF, a VCO which operates over the frequency range of 939-1039MHz within 0.5-4.5VDC of tuning, has been released by Z-Communications. Featuring a spectrally clean signal of -109dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset and a tuning linearity of 1.1:1, the VCO is easy to implement into any PLL system.

The VCO is designed to deliver a nominal output power level of 0.5dBm into a 50Ω load while operating off a 5VDC supply and drawing typically 25mA of current. Suitable for microwave radio and basestation applications that require low phase noise performance, the VCO operates with an average tuning sensitivity of 29MHz/V.

The VCO, which operates from -40 to 85ºC, features typical second harmonic suppression of -15dBc. Offered in Z-Comm's standard MINI-14S package, the VCO measures 0.5x0.5x0.22". The CLV0989A-LF is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements, making it suitable for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.
