An up-converter, suitable for 28-34GHz point-to-point radio applications, has been released by M/A-COM Technology Solutions. The MAUC-011003 integrated up-converter provides a typical conversion gain of 12dB and an image rejection of 15dBc. Integrated with an LO doubler, LO buffer amplifier and RF buffer amplifier, the up-converter removes the customers’ need for a Tx Filter through it's LO suppression.

Turn down trajectories optimised to maintain linearity and 2xLO leakage over the gain control range are delivered by the MAUC-011003. The up-converter, assembled in a lead-free 4mm 24-lead PQFN plastic package, is suitable for point-to-point radios under both LSB and USB operation and Ka-Band VSAT applications.

“The MAUC-011003 is ideal for customers looking for a high performance up-converter for use in current and next generation point-to-point microwave radios,” said Michael O’Driscoll, Product Manager. “The exceptional LO leakage performance and high linearity enables the implementation of high order modulation schemes using direct up-conversion or using an IF with minimal LO filtering, hence reducing the complexity and cost of the overall system for our customers.”
