Designed to deliver an output signal at 12GHz while fixed to an external 100MHz reference oscillator, a fixed frequency synthesiser has been released by Z-Communications. The SFS12000H-LF, which is RoHS compliant, features phase noise performance of -98dBc/Hz at 1kHz and -103dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset.

Suitable for radar systems and test instrumentation, the synthesiser provides a nominal output power of 0dBm into a 50Ω load. The SFS12000H-LF operates with a VCO voltage supply of 5VDC while drawing 85mA, and a phase locked loop voltage of 3VDC while drawing 40mA.

Housed in Z-Comm's standard SFS-L1 package measuring 1.0x1.0x0.22", the synthesiser features harmonic suppression of -30dBc and spurious suppression of -65dBc.

The fixed frequency synthesiser, which operates from -40 to 85°C,  is available in tape and reel packaging for automated surface mount assembly.
