An RF Generator At The Size (And Price) Of A Mobile Phone

ORMELABS presents its new synthesized RF generator SYM4435 featuring mini-USB connector and self-supply. Connected to a computer though a USB cable, it allows to deliver an RF signal in the 35 MHz to 4,4 GHz range, with a 1 kHz step. The output level can be adjusted between -20 and +10 dBm with a 1 dB step.

The performances are competing laboratory sized generators, with a frequency precision of +/- 0,5 ppm and a phase noise of -100 dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset from carrier, at 1 GHz.

Despite its small size, the instrument has on/off modulation input and external reference input, using SMB type connectors.

Available remote commands range (SCPI) allows to easily integrate the module in an automatized test bench.

The SYM4435-USB module thus comes as a new solution in ORMELABS RF generators range, which already includes a module equipped with I2C/SPI/UART interface.
