RFID technology enhances industrial connectors

Now incorporating RFID transponders, HARTING’s Han family of industrial connectors allow specific data on the connector configuration to be linked with factory IT systems. This helps processes such as the ordering of spare parts. UV and ozone resistant materials and seals offer optimum protection against external physical influences and a temperature range from -40 to +125°C.

The Han connectors and RFID transponders meet the moisture protection requirements of IP 65/67, ensuring impermeability to moisture, humidity, dust and dirt throughout the connectors’ useful life. As with all connector housings, the components are capable of withstanding harsh environmental conditions often found in industrial applications, including high temperature fluctuations at extreme levels and the use of corrosive liquids such as cleaning chemicals or oils.

By integrating RFID transponders into the rectangular Han connectors  HARTING has made the development and use of the full range of identification data and its integration into business database structures, including the ordering of spare parts, faster, more convenient and reliable.
