Power amplifiers operate from 7.1–7.9GHz and 7.7–8.5GHz

Two new 4 W power amplifiers from MACOM Technology Solutions are available at Richardson RFPD which is also offering full design support for the devices. The MAAP-011161 and MAAP-011193 are packaged linear PAs that operate from 7.1–7.9 GHz and 7.7–8.5 GHz, respectively. The devices offer OIP3 of +46.5 dBm and greater than +35.5 dBm Psat.

The MAAP-011161 offers 22 dB small signal gain, while the MAAP-011193 provides 20 dB small signal gain.

These two-stage PAs are designed for use in 7 GHz or 8 GHz point-to-point radios for cellular backhaul applications.

They draw 2000 mA bias at 8 V, and are available in air cavity 7 mm x 7 mm surface mount packages with copper coin paddles.

The devices include on-chip ESD protection structures and DC bypass capacitors to ease implementation and volume assembly.
