Fox Electronics have today announced a new series of surface mount Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillators. The FTM series OCXOs are intended for applications as the timing reference for network synchronization. At 5 MHz to 40 MHz and from -40°C to +85°C, the new oscillator provides a standard stability of ±10 ppb. Dependent upon operating conditions, the FTM oscillators can offer stabilities as tight as ±5 ppb.

The new SMD OCXO specifications also make it suitable for communication equipment, such as base stations, radio network controllers, wireless backhaul equipment and routers as well as gateways, Passive Optical Network, Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer, multi-service switching platform and transmission equipment. The FTM series oscillators have a frequency control pin that allows a minimum of ±0.7 ppm of frequency adjustment.

Operating at a maximum of 1.2 W at 25°C, the SMD oscillator comes with a 3.3 Vdc supply voltage, with 5 Vdc as an option. Output load is typically 15 pF and long term aging over 10 years is only 0.4 ppm for all effects.

To save costs and reduce set up time, the FTM Series is available as a simple tape and reel assembly and is easily incorporated into any automated production line. Each OCXO weighs only 5.7 g and comes with a gold termination finish.

Pricing and delivery of the FTM Series SMD OCXOs is dependent upon quantities ordered.
