Fixed frequency synthesizer is phase locked to a 10MHz reference

Z-Communications announces a RoHS compliant fixed frequency phase locked loop model RFS5900A-LF in the C-band. The RFS5900A-LF is a fully integrated synthesizer operating at 5900MHz which is phase locked to a 10MHz reference with a stability of ±2.5ppm. This low cost PLL features a typical phase noise of -80dBc/Hz, -85dBc/Hz, and -103dBc/Hz at the 1kHz, 10kHz and 100kHz offsets, respectively.

The RFS5900A-LF is designed to deliver an output power of 3۬±2dBm while operating off a VCO voltage supply of 5VDC and drawing 35mA and a phase locked loop voltage of 3VDC while drawing 15mA. This unmatched product features a 2nd harmonic suppression of -25dBc and spurious suppression of -65dBc. It is housed in Z-COMM’s standard PLL-V12N package measuring 0.6×0.6×0.13″. The RFS5900A-LF is also suitable for automated surface mount assembly and is available in tape and reel packaging.

The RFS5900A-LF allows for simple design implementation making it a great choice for quick product rollouts, and is well suited for satellite communications and radar applications requiring operation over the temperature range of -30 to 70°C.
