Differential LVDS oscillators offer 300fs phase jitter

Offering high performance at highly competitive prices, three ranges of surface mount micro-miniature differential LVDS oscillators that offer femtosecond integrated phase jitter have been unveiled by Mercury Electronics Europe. All three HDK series are available with 2.5 or 3.3V supply voltage offering frequencies from 10 to 220MHz (3.3V) and 13.5 to 220MHz (2.5V) with differential LVDS square wave output.

The HDK3261 series oscillators are housed in 3.2×2.5x1mm surface mount packages, while HDK5361 measure 5×3.2×1.2mm and HDK5761 are 7x5x1.8mm devices. All offer typical phase jitter of 300fs with typical phase noise of -144dBc/Hz at 100kHz. Specifications include typical current consumption of 16mA, maximum start-up time of 10ms and maximum ageing of ±3ppm per year for all models. Operating temperature ranges from -10 to +70°C (commercial) and -40 to +85°C (industrial) are available across the range.

Supplied on 16mm tape in 1,000 unit quantities per reel, the HDK series differential LVDS oscillators are suited for a wide range of volume applications including flat panel displays for consumer TVs, video streaming systems via external cables (e.g. LDI), high speed serial communications links such as Serial ATA & FireWire, SONET, xDSL, SDH, STBs and Ethernet cards.
