The on-chip RF decimator enables the ADC to be oversampled providing increased SNR for improved image quality while maintaining lower data I/O rates. The 5-Gbps JESD204B serial interface reduces ultrasound system I/O data routing compared to other data interface standards by as much as 80%.
These features simplify ultrasound board design, while better addressing industry demand for higher data rates, larger channel counts and greater image resolution. A second model, the AD9674, offers the same basic functionality but is available with standard LVDS interface. The AD9675 and AD9674 are the latest additions to Analog Devices’ award-winning octal ultrasound receiver portfolio.
The AD9675 and AD9674 are available in a space-saving 144-ball, 10 mm x 10 mm BGA package and are pin compatible with the AD9670/AD9671, providing easy migration for those designs that require, reduced cost and limited digital functionality.
Both the AD9675 and the AD9674 are available for sampling now with full production scheduled for April 2013 and February 2013 respectively. The AD9675 is available in a 144-ball, 10mm x 10mm BGA package priced at $68.00 (USD) each in 1000 quantities. The AD9674 is available in a 144-ball, 10mm x 10mm BGA package priced at $62.00 (USD) each in 1000 quantities.
