“The use of high thermal conductivity materials in our Accu-P series capacitors results in excellent RF power handling capabilities and makes them ideal for a wide variety of applications,” said Larry Eisenberger, senior marketing application engineer at AVX. “Additionally, with the introduction of our latest high performance chip capacitor, which is significantly smaller than the standard 0201 ultra-miniature chip, we can now provide engineers with even greater flexibility.”
Accu-P series thin film chip capacitors feature high purity electrodes for very low and repeatable ESR; highly pure, low-K dielectric for high breakdown voltage, high insulation resistance, and low losses at frequencies up to 40GHz; very tight dimensional control for repeatable RF performance unit to unit, batch to batch, and year after year; and very tight capacitance tolerances for both small signal and high frequency signal applications. Available in standard 01005, 0201, 0402, 0603, 0805, and 1210 chip sizes, Accu-P series capacitors also feature lead-free, nickel/solder-coated terminations, which provide excellent solderability and leach resistance, and are rated for use in temperatures ranging from -55° to +125°C. Additionally, every capacitor in the Accu-P® series undergoes rigorous inspection, test, and quality control procedures in accordance with ISO9001 and MIL standards.
Ideal applications include mobile and military communications devices, satellite and cable televisions, global positioning systems, vehicle location and alarm systems, radar systems, test and measurement equipment, RF modules, filters, matching networks, video switching, and VCOs. Additionally, the repeatability of RF parameters also makes Accu-P capacitors particularly suitable for use as stand-alone notch filters.
