Frequency dividers with compact SMA connectorised packages
Fairview Microwave has introduced a new line of frequency divider modules that cover broadband frequencies from 0.1 to 20GHz. A comprehensive offering of 28 different models features fixed divide-by-ratios from two to 40. These compact prescalers are well suited for use in frequency synthesiser and phase locked loop (PLL) circuit designs, as well as test instrumentation systems.
Duo offer development kits for 4D millimetre wave imaging
Mini Circuits has expanded its collaboration with 4D radar imaging pioneer, Vayyar, to offer researchers in the Radio Frequency / microwave industry and academia a ready-to-use, 4D millimeter wave (mmWave) imaging and sensing application development platform.
RFID system helps Network Rail keep track of rolling stock
CoreRFID is rolling out a system of tags and readers for Network Rail. The RFID based system assists in identifying rolling stock as it passes over monitoring sites across the rail network. The tags, which can be read over long distances whilst the rolling stock is moving, are coded to Network Rail's specifications and this enables assets to be matched to corresponding records in the asset management systems.
Building low cost, low powered connected devices
Thingstream has announced that it now supports the LTE-M (Cat-M1) radio standard as part of its end-to-end ‘MQTT Anywhere’ Connectivity-as-a-service offering. The news announced at IoT Solutions World Congress, means that device manufacturers can now offer ubiquitous global IoT coverage in a low power small form factor with fixed and predictable pricing guaranteedc
20.1 billion RFID tags to be sold in 2019
‘RFID Forecasts, Players and Opportunities 2019-2029’, the global annual survey of the RFID industry by analysts IDTechEx, has revealed that in 2019 the number of passive RFID tags sold will increase by 13% over 2018. That includes passive RFID tags across the three main frequencies used (RAIN, HF and LF). Of those three frequencies RAIN RFID will see the highest growth from 2018 to 2019 at 20% with HF RFID (including NFC) at fiv...
Wideband synthesiser helps cut BoM costs
A wideband synthesiser with an integrated voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) from Analog Devices is in stock at Mouser Electronics. The ADF5610’s performance and flexibility make it ideal for diverse market applications such as aerospace and defence, wireless infrastructure, microwave point-to-point links, electronic test and measurement, and satellite terminals.
High frequency composite materials for SiC and GaN applications
SMP has developed ‘All Mode’ EMC filters with high frequency stability. The High Frequency Composite Materials (HFCM) developed and manufactured by SMP are effective for frequencies up to the gigahertz range and satisfy all of the requirements to which modern SiC and GaN applications are subject.
Miniature oscillators open up embedded applications
Ultra-miniature surface mount crystal oscillators that are ideal for use in embedded and smart clothing applications have been launched by Euroquartz. The XO22 series is now available in a new ultra-miniature 2.5 x 2.0 x 1.0mm size surface mount package with frequencies from 0.75 to 50MHz.
Clean room investment bears fruit with clock oscillators
The first fruits of Euroquartz’s six-figure investment in a Class 7 cleanroom facility were debuted at the Embedded Design Show in Coventry in the shape of UK-manufactured surface mount military clock oscillators with frequencies available from 2.0MHz to 60MHz
Guarantee reduced noise specification in five gigahertz band
Murata has announced the release of the BLF03VK series of ultra-compact noise filters specifically designed for the five gigahertz band, one of the frequency ranges used in WiFi (wireless LAN) communications. The filters are the first in the world to have a specified, guaranteed impedance value at five gigahertz.
