Bourns has announced its PEC04 Series 4mm Incremental Micro Encoder, its PEC05 Series 5mm Incremental Micro Encoder, and its Model PEC06, a 6mm Incremental Micro Encoder.

Bourns’ new micro encoders provide position and speed information essential for control functions in a broad variety of electronic applications.

The PEC04 Series is designed for use in today’s more compact consumer electronics such as micro headphones and smart wearable devices, and the PEC05 Series is an optimal incremental encoder for mouse wheels, smart home appliances and smart wearable devices. In addition, the Model PEC06 micro encoder is an ideal solution for smart home appliances and desk lamps, enabling designers to elevate the reliability of these next-generation intelligent devices.

The new micro encoders have an impressive IP40 rating for dust, feature a 30k, 50k, and 20k rotational cycle rating respectively and a -20°C to +70°C operating temperature range in a rugged, compact surface mount design. These micro encoders also offer a 2-bit quadrature code output and 360-degree continuous mechanical angle. These features and capabilities make these micro encoders well-suited for space-constrained consumer electronics designs.

The Bourns PEC04 and PEC05 Series as well as the Model PEC06 Incremental Micro Encoders are available now through Bourns’ authorised distribution partners, and are RoHS compliant.
