Battery disconnect switches cope with extreme conditions

In stock at distributor DigiKey are TE Connectivity’s high-voltage (HV) battery disconnect switches from the KISSLING switches product family.

These are robust solutions to provide the utmost safety through disconnecting power for safe maintenance.

They are available in multiple versions: 250 A without high-voltage interlock and 400 A/500 A with high-voltage interlock.

Engineered to TE’s high standards, HV battery switches are built to withstand extreme conditions, boasting an IP67 and IP6K9K protection class.

With a high resistance to shock and vibration as well as an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, they are ideal for high-power applications commonly found in the truck, bus, agricultural, construction, forklift, marine, and other industrial vehicle markets.

They provide complete integration with high-voltage wiring systems with up to 1,000 V operating voltage, and reliable protection against water and dust with IP67 and IP6K9K.

The switches are able to withstand extreme temperatures and have high resistance to shock and vibration.

Applications cover disconnecting main power or accessory system power for safe maintenance, battery shutdown in-vehicle applications and theft prevention/protection against unauthorized use of vehicles or equipment

Target markets are trucks, buses, construction and agriculture, ground support vehicles, forklifts, marine and aircraft.
