easyTOUCH, PCAP sensor technology from DATA MODUL, has upgraded its driverless firmware to version 2.0. The upgraded firmware introduces features such as easyBUTTON support, easySETTINGs and an easyANALYZER tool.

The easyANALYZER tool allows the visualization of the touch raw data and the configuration. All parameters of the maXTouch text files can be written "live" in the touch controller and the changed signal can be read directly. Noises from the display or the environment can now appear in the analyzing tool. Furthermore it’s very simple to read and write the basic controller setting in case of customer support.

The easyBUTTON support allows controlling of an easyTOUCH PCAP sensor and buttons with only one USB controller. The positioning and number of buttons (up to 8 keys) can be customized depending on the application. easySETTINGs allows a simple controller configuration and can be quickly exchanged between the customer and DATA MODUL in case any support is needed.

To ensure the safety and quality of the easyTOUCH sensors the new driverless firmware 2.0 includes a self-test function. During the start-up of the USB controller it checks the sensor drive voltage of the easyTOUCH system. If no defects are detected, for example by a broken sensor line, the touch sensor is operating as usual. If a fault is detected, the customer can choose between two operational modes, either hold the touch system or operating in the restrict mode on.

The easyANALZYER tool will be released together with the firmware 2.0 beginning of March for all USB S-series controllers.
