MMD announces a new 27-inch curved display for home users. For lifelike images, the latest addition to the curved line-up features the wider colour gamut of Ultra Wide-Color technology for precise colour reproduction. With an extremely small curvature radius of 1800 mm, the 278E8QJAB display provides a highly immersive experience as it increases the perception of depth and reduces picture distortion.

Combined with Adaptive-Sync technology, it provides a super-smooth viewing experience with no stuttering, tearing or motion blur. “The latest 27-inch addition to our curved range takes curved displays even further into the mainstream. But this is just the start – we will bring a comprehensive line-up of curved monitors to the market this year.

This emphasises the commitment of MMD to innovative technology that makes work and play easier and more enjoyable for users,” says Artem Khomenko, Product Manager Philips monitors Europe at MMD.

With enhanced Full HD and the latest Ultra Wide-Color technology, the 278E8QJAB display offers one of the widest colour ranges in the market for brilliant visuals: Ultra Wide-Color supports a wider gamut – 130% sRGB (104% NTSC) gamut as opposed to the typical 99% sRGB (72% NTSC).

It expands on the range of colours users can perceive on the screen by enhancing the hardware, rather than by fine-tuning the software settings. Video makers and photographers, but also online shoppers and other users can rely on accurate colour reproduction.

Complementing its colour performance and slim curved lines, the display also features VA LED technology, an advanced multi-domain vertical alignment technology that delivers super-high static contrast ratios for extra vivid and bright images. This leverages display performance even more for photos, movies and graphics applications.

The new 27-inch display is replete with functions designed to make viewing a pleasure. Flicker-Free technology auto-regulates the brightness for a steadier picture, and Philips SmartImage Lite adjusts settings to suit the content being displayed, dynamically enhancing the contrast, colour saturation and sharpness of images and videos – all in real time at the touch of a button.

The display is equipped with DisplayPort for high-speed data transfer, as well as HDMI. Also integrated: a pair of stereo speakers to complement the high-quality visuals with high-quality audio.

The new Philips 278E8QJAB E-Line display will be available in March 2017. The MSRP is £239.
