When an index matched bond is made, the reflections from the internals surfaces are eliminated and the remaining front surface reflections can be reduced from 4.5% for plain glass to less than 0.5% for Anti-Reflective (AR) coated glass.
Using over 25 years in display enhancement, Optical Filters developed VizBond, a wet bonding system that cures to a gel to deliver a cost effective, scale-able system where the components are processed at ambient temperature without the use of vacuum, temperature or pressure. Vizbond cures at 390-500nm so is effective through polarisers and materials containing UV inhibitors.
Field proven, Viz-Bond is a re-workable solution that provides excellent temperature stability from -55 to +95°C, superior solar exposure performance with no yellowing. In addition, its mechanical properties offer MIL-spec impact resistance, shock and vibration absorption making this a suitable option for rugged environments.
Other enhancements by Optical Filters can also be incorporated into the display stack to including heaters to keep displays at optimum operating temperatures, EMI shielding, light control and touch capability.
With photopic transmission in excess of 95% and specular and diffuse reflectance less than 0.05%, the excellent optical performance of VizBond makes it an obvious choice for a wide variety of applications including public interface, marine, medical, avionic and defence.
