Cree LED's XLamp Element G (XE-G) LEDs are said to be breakthrough solutions for colour-mixing lighting applications that require high levels of light output and full control over the spectral content.

They are in stock at distributor Digi-Key.

The XE-G LEDs are available in 17 different colours plus a complete portfolio of white options, giving lighting manufacturers flexibility to change and optimise their product's light output properties.

A 2.05 mm x 1.6 mm footprint package includes a variety of combinations of features for LEDs including a large isolated thermal pad, ESD protection, and minimal spacing between the LED chip and the edge of the package.

The LED platform is consistent across all colours in key LED design parameters, including package size, PCB footprint, anode/cathode orientation, optical source size, optical source location, and ESD protection.

This consistency makes it easy to reuse core design elements, such as PCBs and optics, across a wide range of designs.

Maximum drive current is 3 A and the LEDs are JEDEC J-STD 020C compatible.

Applications cover indoor directional lighting, architectural lighting, entertainment lighting and aftermarket automotive lighting.
