Customisable displays developed on the Android platform

MTA presents at Electronica 2016 its new Giotto and Leonardo customisable displays, 8” and 12” respectively, developed on an Android platform optimised by its electronics division for the automotive industry. At software level, the two displays available from the catalogue stand out for their ability to offer increased customisation.

This Android platform also includes standard features such as graphics and reference algorithms that facilitate the development of applications. In this way, the customer can easily adapt the tool to the specific needs of the vehicle on which it will be installed.

As well as the Android Studio environment, whose competence is now widespread, the two displays can also be programmed with the MTA Studio tool, developed by MTA itself for even novice users, and dedicated to a wide range of products. 

At hardware level, the two 8”and 12” displays are presented like a real tablet with a TFT touch screen and use the Jacinto 6 multicore microprocessor produced by Texas Instruments, which can ensure state-of-the-art performance including activation times of less than 5 sec. 

Both displays offered by MTA can be powered with 12V and 24V supplies; they stand out for their IP66 protection and their high resistance to vibration and temperatures, as required for heavy-duty applications. Finally, the two formats in which the displays are offered allow you to meet the varied needs of all professional operators. 

With the introduction of these two new displays, MTA reconfirms itself as the company of reference in the vehicular electronics field, able to meet the requirements of the OEMs with both custom-made products for large-scale productions, and off-the-shelf products for niche applications, and that can be customised easily thanks to the latest generation of software tools even by less experienced users.
