American Industrial Systems, Inc. (AIS) is an ISO 9001:2008 certified supplier and manufacturer of 12.1” and 15” ruggedized industrial HMI (human machine interface) operator control interfaces, designed for installation in labeling machines and packaging systems used in for food processing, pharmaceutical and industrial industries.
The rugged HMI touch interfaces are used to setup, operate, monitor, control, and perform real-time data collection for industrial labeling and packing machines.

These HMI operator interface panels feature a industry-optimized design including a IP65 protected front panel, low power consumption and low heat dissipation Intel® Atom™ processor 1.6 GHz, dual Ethernet (10/100), dual USB2.0 and serial (isolated 2 x RS232 and 2 x RS485) interfaces, touch screen, robust chassis, light and easy-to-clean plastic housing, and shock and vibration resistance. These features allow OEM labeling and packaging machine builders to increase competitiveness, improve overall system reliability, reduced maintenance and save installation cost.

The HMI operator system is powered by the Intel® Atom™ 1.6 GHz processor with 2.5W thermal design power (TDP) and 1.56 TDP to clock speed ratio (W/GHz), offering optimal performance to power consumption ratio. The touch panel pc is designed to NEMA 1/12/4 sealing standards, meeting high levels of dust, dirt, grease, moisture, humidity, shock, vibration and EMI/RFI resistance compliance. The system features built-in fully isolated RS-232/RS-485 serial ports, designed to harden, protect, and extend the operating ranges of these data communications networks for industrial automation applications. The systems accept a wide voltage range input of 9-33V, making integration and deployment simple. AIS´ commercial off the shelf (COTS) predesigned operator terminals provide a cost effective control interface which is easily integrated to new and existing installations reducing the time to market and competitiveness where service, availability, reliability, and technology are paramount.
