WIN Enterprises has announced the PL-50030, a fanless, high-performance networking system based on the Intel 7th Gen Core Processor. This industrial PC platform provides high CPU computing power from a choice of four or dual- core Intel processors.

When used in an IoT system as an edge device for factory-line monitoring, the PL-50030 delivers sufficient performance to off-load communications to the Cloud for local data capture, computing, and decision making. This enables an improvement of the overall performance of the IoT system.

With five COM ports and six USB ports, four USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, the device can communicate with several production line-based sensors, cameras, and devices. Fanless operation and six GbE LANs mean that PL-50030 is also an ideal unit for call centres and counter-top medical monitoring devices that demand quiet, but require high performance capability.

Additional network expansion is accomplished through PCIe interface modules, M.2, and Mini PCIe technology. The PL-50030 provides high performance and system responsiveness with its support for the Intel 7th generation, i7/i5/i3 processors. Serial communications for line connectivity includes 2x RS232 (with power) and RS422/485.

This connectivity provides exceptional flexibility to OEMs that use the platform as a rugged edge computer for factory automated production, monitoring and IoT.
