SynaptiCAD has released an updated version of WaveFormer Pro, a tool for analyzing timing diagrams and translating digital and analog waveforms between simulators and test equipment. The new version supports importing and exporting digital and analog waveforms to the latest Agilent and Tektronix logic analyzers and mixed-signal oscilloscopes. WaveFormer also supports importing timing information from the Mentor Graphic's Hyperlynx board-level timing analysis tool.
In addition to supporting new waveform and timing formats, WaveFormer Pro has numerous performance improvements including faster import and export of extremely large VCD files and faster reading of analog waveform data to support VHDL, Verilog, and SPICE simulators.

WaveFormer Pro is also a fully functional timing diagram editor, and several improvements have been added to make it easier to locate timing parameters and timing violations in complex timing diagrams. One such feature is the ability to add arbitrary tags to timing parameters to group and filter them in various ways (for example, all setup times associated with a given chip). New reports and graphs can also be generated to simplify analysis of particular critical paths in a design.

Pricing and Availability

WaveFormer Pro is available on Linux and Windows. Perpetual licenses and time-based licenses are available starting at $1,656. All products are available for trial download.
