“As the complexity of our designs has escalated to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving home entertainment markets, Synopsys has proven the reliable choice to help us meet those demands through a combination of tools, IP and services,” said Ying-Chih Yang, chief technology officer, Home Entertainment Business Unit of Sunplus. “Using Synopsys products and services on our leading chips enables us to improve our design efficiency and focus on commercialising technologies for easy living.”
With this expanded agreement, Sunplus has chosen products across Synopsys’ broad portfolio, including the Galaxy Implementation Platform’s IC Compiler place-and-route technology, Design Compiler(R) Ultra synthesis, Formality(R) power-aware equivalence checking, DFT Compiler, PrimeTime(R) SI signal integrity analysis, PrimeTime PX power analysis, StarRC(TM) parasitic extraction, DFTMAX(TM) compression, TetraMAX(R) automatic test pattern generation and TetraMAX DSMTest; the Discovery Verification Platform’s VCS(R) and HSPICE(R) simulators for analog and digital verification; and DesignWare Library’s portfolio of synthesisable and verification IP.
“In consumer markets as dynamic as the segments that Sunplus serves, flexibility and predictability are critical success factors in the design process and Sunplus has demonstrated both,” said John Chilton, Synopsys’ senior vice president of marketing and strategic development. “Looking to the future, our broadened collaboration serves two key objectives for Sunplus: it enables them to continue to deliver differentiated solutions to their customers, and at the same time advance the robustness of their internal design methodologies and flows to support the development of new products.”
