A manufacturer of electronic components for the aerospace and defense industries, Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing, recently selected Aegis FactoryLogix MES software to implement in their North Dakota plant. The MES software was chosen to implement an intelligent paperless documentation system and real-time data analysis for increasing yield and enhancing traceability.

Killdeer Mountain’s quality management system was designed to achieve compliance with the latest aerospace industry standards, including AS9100C - one of the most difficult regulations for aerospace manufacturers to obtain. This regulation stipulates that a documentation system for product quality must be established, maintained, and consistently improved. The proper MES system can help complex discrete manufacturers set up the ideal combination of triggers, guides, and paperless reports that will allow staff to effectively manage a compliant process in their factory.

Aegis FactoryLogix provides powerful part traceability and process auditability features, operator controls, and document storage capabilities to assist aerospace manufacturers in maintaining regulatory compliance. The software supports International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements by capturing ITAR-mandatory data such as bills of material, detailed part numbers, and proper routing sequences. It also limits use of the MES software to employees who meet ITAR data access restrictions, enforcing data security.

With this implementation, Killdeer Mountain will be installing the latest version of the market-leading software - FactoryLogix R3. FactoryLogix R3 supports all verticals and integrates with any existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to create one unified system for complete visibility into production on the factory floor.
