Smart Eye is set to enhance another car model with its Automotive Interior Sensing AI, integrating both Driver Monitoring System (DMS) software and Cabin Monitoring System (CMS) software.

The order's estimated revenue is projected at SEK 100 million, based on the anticipated product life cycle.

The company will extend its Automotive Interior Sensing AI technology to a new vehicle by an established client, a leading European car manufacturer. This marks the first instance of the car manufacturer incorporating Smart Eye's CMS technology into one of its models, having previously integrated the DMS software.

Smart Eye’s blend of DMS and CMS within its Automotive Interior Sensing AI provides critical insights into the driver’s condition, the cabin environment, and all occupants, enhancing vehicle safety and convenience. The technology facilitates essential safety features such as monitoring seat belt usage, the presence of child seats, and the positioning of occupants, which is crucial for the adaptive deployment of safety measures like airbags.

The technology-equipped car model is set for production in 2025, with the order valued at an estimated SEK 100 million based on expected product life cycle volumes. Additionally, potential future design wins on the same platform could generate up to SEK 500 million over the product’s lifecycle.

Martin Krantz, CEO and Founder of Smart Eye, remarked on the burgeoning interest in interior sensing technology: “It’s clear to see that the market for interior sensing is now growing at a very fast pace. This is the fifth design win we’ve received for our Automotive Interior Sensing AI in the last two weeks, and we expect more to follow as the industry continues to embrace the safety and comfort features enabled by this technology. Thanks to the merger with Affectiva in 2021, Smart Eye is well-positioned to lead this new market.”

To date, Smart Eye has secured up to 320 design wins from 21 OEMs, with the total estimated lifetime value of these wins surpassing SEK 7.350 billion. The potential value from additional design wins across all 21 car manufacturers is estimated at SEK 3.850 billion, underscoring the significant impact and growth potential of Smart Eye’s technologies in the automotive industry.
