PFC evaluation kit achieves 80 PLUS Titanium standards
A 1.2kW GaN eHEMT bridgeless totem pole PFC evaluation kit from GaN Systems is now being shipped by distributor Mouser Electronics.
The GS1200BTP-EVB evaluation kit is a fanless design solution that achieves 80 PLUS Titanium standards for data centres and computing applications.
It has a high power density, reliable start-up, high efficiency, reduced heat sinking, low THD, and low EMI.
The topology is bidirectional and is easily scaled (~10kW).
The kit incorporates the Solantro SA4041 32-bit, 50MHz digital power processor.
This processor integrates high-speed analogue peripherals, hardware accelerators, and an event driven timing engine with a 50MHz microprocessor.
The GaN Systems GS66508B 650V eHEMTs (Enhancement-Mode High Electron-Mobility Transistor) included in this design feature patented Island Technology cell layout for reduction of the device size and cost, while delivering substantially higher current and better performance than other GaN devices.
This design can be incorporated as a front-end of AC-DC converters for EV onboard chargers and industrial power supply applications.
