“Microsoft Windows 7 has been very well received by the market and we have many customers who see a need to provide a Windows client option to their end-user customers for portable solutions”, said Erik Norup, President of Napatech Inc. “However, there is also interest in deploying network appliances based on Windows Server 2008 R2 for demanding applications. With Napatech’s unique high-speed Windows driver implementation, OEM network appliance vendors can offer a Windows solution safe in the knowledge that Napatech network adapters will provide the same performance as can be expected on Linux or FreeBSD.”
Microsoft Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 support is available on all Napatech PCI-Express intelligent real-time network analysis adapters including the NT20E 2×10 Gbps and NT4E 4x1Gbps Capture & In-line adapters. Windows 7 based network appliances can be used for portable network test, monitoring and forensic appliances, which can be deployed on as need basis. Windows Server 2008 R2 based network appliances can be used for permanent, more demanding applications, which require more memory and processing power.
