Fritz Technologies Corporation, the prime contractor for a U.S. Government high-assurance program, has selected LynuxWorks, Inc. as a strategic partner and will use their LynxSecure 4.0 product as a foundation for their Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) approach. This effort includes developing an environment where servers and applications can process data on different classification levels while allowing data sharing between a fixed number of information nodes.
According to Bobbi-Michelle Wehrfritz, CEO and Founder of Fritz Technologies Corporation, “Using standard hardware and the LynxSecure Separation Kernel and Embedded Hypervisor, we will be able to demonstrate a unique environment for running secure multiple guest operating systems and high assurance cross-domain data sharing.”

“The award winning LynxSecure delivers an incredible performance breakthrough in multi-core processor and virtualization technologies,” remarked Gurjot Singh the CEO for LynuxWorks, Inc. “LynxSecure maintains the highest levels of security while providing access to multiple classifications of information maintained in separate domains on a single workstation or server and also allowing controlled data sharing between the domains.”

LynxSecure 4.0 provides the most flexible virtualization solution for use in Intel x86 based secure systems. Built from the ground up and now, in its 4th generation, LynxSecure offers the combination of security with functionality, allowing designers to use the latest software and hardware technologies to build complex multi-OS (operating systems) based systems. Another key feature that LynxSecure offers is the ability to run guest OSes that have Symmetric Multi-processing (SMP) capabilities. The new quad-core devices from Intel make this feature a reality by allowing one of the guest OSes to run across multiple cores, offering performance never seen before in a virtualized system. For systems that require a sophisticated user interface coupled with networked connectivity, and also hard real-time data response, the combination of LynxSecure with, for example, a quad-core Intel® Core™ i7 processor allows all of this functionality to be easily developed, or migrated from existing systems, giving an unprecedented development window for the next generation of complex embedded systems.
