Typically, developers can reduce power consumption by deactivating peripherals, using low-power modes or reducing clock frequency. The impact of these changes and how they influence power consumption can be analyzed with PowerScale.
This analysis allows the engineer to understand whether the microcontroller’s low-power options are being used to their full potential and with maximum efficiency.
If the PowerScale is combined with the Keil ULINKpro, this will also allow focused analysis of a specific point in the software program. This will provide very precise analysis of how the software is performing.
The consumption curve for the software can then be displayed for further analysis. Any software sequences that are using high amounts of power will therefore be detected and analyzed, allowing the engineer to further optimize consumption levels.
