BVM continues to expand its capabilities in the embedded SBC space with the addition of the new versions of the LV-679 and the LS-372 units, both based on a low power Core 2 Duo BGA CPU that typically consume around half the power of a normal mobile processor thereby simplifying cooling and power supply requirements.
The LV-679 is a Mini-ITX format module featuring the GME965 Express chipset, providing excellent flexibility for developers of embedded applications by offering outstanding graphics and I/O bandwidth, asset management capabilities, storage speed and reliability. The 800MHz FSB, 1.6GHz CPU clock, 4MB L2 cache and support for 3GB RAM ensure maximum performance, yet the total power consumption is only 20 Watts. The second board, the LS-372, is in the popular 3.5 format and features the same CPU and chipset, supports 2GB of RAM and consumes even less power.

Both models are I/O rich, with built in interfaces to a variety of peripherals including DVI port, HDMI, Gigabit LAN, IDE support for Solid State Disk and SATA ports. USB 2.0, 7.1 audio, PCI and Mini PCI, Firewire and GPIO capability enable the SBCs to be deployed in interactive clients, gaming, medical, POS, Digital Signage, surveillance and industrial automation equipment. The RTC and watchdog timer ensure robust performance and the units require a nominal 12 VDC external power source.
