FPGA design software delivers the ‘fastest’ compile times

The Quartus II Arria 10 edition v14.0, 20nm FPGA and SoC design software claimed to the industry’s most advanced, has been released by Altera. Providing compile times claimed to be two times faster than the nearest competitor, the software allows users to shorten design iterations and rapidly close timing on their design.

Altera also claims that the Quartus II software enables users to design the highest performing 20nm FPGAs in the industry, providing more than a one-speed grade performance advantage over competitive FPGAs.The software features a broad portfolio of 20nm-optimised IP cores, including standard protocol and memory interfaces and DSP and SoC IP cores. Also optimised for Arria 10 FPGAs and SoCs are 100G Ethernet, 300G Interlaken, Interlaken Look-Aside and PCI Express Gen3 IP IP cores.
