Increasing the flexibility to use an RTOS or work without one, version 1.0 includes a compatible professional graphics library and significant functional and performance improvements across many of the Harmony driver libraries. Existing middleware, such as IPv6 certification of the Microchip TCP/IP stack, has also been enhanced.
Saving time and cost for development, MPLAB Harmony provides users with a single integrated platform which features production-ready tested, debugged and interoperable source code. It also offers an RTOS-independent environment and a set of peripheral libraries, drivers and system services that are readily accessible for application development. New features in version 1.0 provide code interoperability with modular architecture, enabling drivers and libraries to work together with minimal effort. The integrated platform enables easy and seamless third-party software integration of RTOS, middleware, drivers and other elements.
The framework integrates the MPLAB Harmony Configurator to provide quick and easy driver and middleware settings management. The MPLAB Harmony Configurator GUI environment saves time and simplifies changing the configuration of peripherals anytime during development. Almost entirely eliminating the possibility of bugs in the peripheral and middleware configurations, the easy-to-use code development solution aids designers in meeting ever-shorter product design schedules and decreasing budgets.
