The PiFi board features three audio outputs that include stereo headphones, SPDIF and speakers as well as an on-board microphone and an external microphone connection.
“The PiFi has the same form factor as the Pi, so it can be easily mounted above the Pi using a micro USB cable and stand-off pillars,” said Adrian Amor, Director at IES. “The board is also fully ALSA driver compatible and requires only minimal setup for high quality audio reproduction. The PiFi is an exciting solution for developers that are looking to explore audio recording and playback.”
The PiFi has a cut-out around the GPIO port to allow other peripherals to be connected without interference and it also provides two USB2.0 ports for connection to other USB devices so that no USB ports are lost. The PiFi is available through RS Components.
