Kontron has announced that it now offers its KBox B-202-CFL Embedded Box-PC with Intel Core 9th generation processors, which with up to eight processor cores provide a performance boost with constant power dissipation. Thus, the KBox B-202-CFL effortlessly handles computationally complex processes and large amounts of data.

The Embedded Box-PC is not only characterised by high performance, but also by a maximum of expandability and a low noise level (maximum 34 dB(A)). Highlights include the expansion options featuring up to two PCIe x8 cards or one PCIe x16, therefore graphicsor network cards can easily be added. This makes the KBox B-202-CFL ideal for demanding applications such as high-end image processing, SCADA/MES applications, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

It is also certified according to EN55032 Class B, which means it complies with stricter radio interference limits than Class A. This makes it suitable not only for use in industrial environments but also for residential and commercial applications or in their immediate vicinity. This and its modern design also make the KBox B-202-CFL the ideal computer for architecture and graphic design offices as well as music studios.

At the core of the KBox B-202-CFL is a Kontron motherboard in the mini-ITX form factor (170x170 mm) with a CPU with up to eight processor cores: Depending on requirements, Intel CoreT i3/i5/i7 processors of the eighth or ninth generation can be selected.

The KBox B-202-CFL offers two Ethernet ports 10/100/1000 MBit/s (WoL), as well as various mass storage devices. As an alternative to a 2.5" SSD and an M.2 SSD, a Raid system with 2x M.2 SSD and a DVD drive can be installed. Further options with up to four mass storage devices are available on request.

The system features two DisplayPorts V1.2, one DVI-D connection, numerous interfaces, such as four USB 2.0, four USB 3.1 Gen 1, two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, as well as a serial interface (COM1/RS232).

The supported operating system is Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. The compact housing with the dimensions 190x120x190mm is made of hot-dip galvanised sheet steel (EN10215) and aluminium. The Box-PC is equipped with an almost silent fan and can be operated at a temperature range from zero to 45°C.
