Expanding the company's portfolio of embedded ARM products, Cadia Networks has introduced the iMX6-DK development kit for the iMX6 family of ARM SBCs. Carefully designed with the end user in mind, this kit offers a single box solution for OEMs, independent system integrators, developers and enthusiasts to understand the architecture, run interface demos and even develop their own applications.

Targeted for the Freescale iMX6 SoC with ARM A9 core, the kit can be used to develop systems such as consumer devices, communication equipment and even virtualised applications with multiple display capabilities. Unlike other similar development kits available, the iMX6-DK is suitable for a wide array of users with various levels of expertise. The CPU board offers a rich variety of interfaces including PCIe, Mini-PICe, Gigabit Ethernet, RS-232, CAN 2.0, USB 2.0, PWM, Watchdog Timer, Analog Input and GPIO lines. This wide array of interfaces allow the kit to be used in a variety of different applications.

To facilitate faster development, this development kit removes any guess work in regard to how to power the board, what software interfaces mean, how the device drivers map to the actual hardware pins and how to control them. Ready to run Linux OS on an SD card, the iMX6-DK includes all the hardware, detailed documentation and cables/power supply for evaluation.

The kit contains: an iMX6 CNA9-SOM module with HDMI capability; a base board to host the SOM module with all the connectors, including SD socket, Serial Port, Power, USB, Ethernet, Analog, PWM and GPIO; an LCD display pre-installed and mounted on the base board; a 5V DC power supply adapter; USB and Ethernet cables; SD card with ready to run Linux OS image that is pre-programmed with Uboot, OS, Device drivers, Application code and all the required documentation; and complete documentation and Eclipse development environment on a USB flash drive.

Available now, the iMX6-DK development kit is being offered at an introductory price of $379.00 (USD) (maximum two per customer).
