LASER COMPONENTS continues to expand its optics production with two coating systems.

The ion beam sputtering (IBS) system delivered last year is now fully operational and has started production. An additional ion-assisted deposition (IAD) system has been ordered for the end of 2022.

The manufacturer, which specialises in special designs to customer specifications, can now also produce highly complex dielectric layer designs in quantities of several thousand without neglecting the production of small batches and prototypes. This offers customers not only more flexibility through shorter delivery times but also more favourable unit prices.

For decades, the manufacturer has consistently invested in the modern IBS and IAD processes, which can be used to produce compact layers in a controlled manner. This is a basic requirement for highly reflective mirrors, vacuum optics, complex dichroic mirrors, beam splitters with low tolerances, and thin-film polarisers with additional optical functions.

“Laser optics is a fast-growing market segment in which experience and technical expertise play a crucial role. Our customers have very specific problems for which we work with them to find customised solutions,” says Patrick Paul, Owner and CEO of LASER COMPONENTS. “By investing in additional production capacity, we are now able to deliver large quantities of even the most complex optics. At the same time, the additional equipment allows us to react more flexibly to downtime and guarantee shorter delivery times.”
