K2L has announced its OptoLyzer StudioGUI software, for designing devices and systems that enable data communication over every leading-edge automotive bus, including CAN, LIN, FlexRay and MOST networks. The software includes support for K2L, Microchip and other third party hardware development tools.

By combining all of the features from K2L’s existing OptoLyzer Suite and Automotive Test System (ATS) software with modern, easy-to-use features, the comprehensive OptoLyzer Studio software simplifies the full development cycle of automotive distributed devices and systems; from test and simulation to analysis and verification.

The universal OptoLyzer Studio software reduces complexity and cost, and shortens time-to-market for all activities related to test and simulation. It also covers all of the requirements for conducting analysis and verification, helping to ensure quality from the earliest design stages. In addition to supporting all major automotive busses, this .NET-based tool leverages cost-effective open technologies that allow for customised extensions, making it the most flexible option available to the automotive industry.

Consumer demand for more sophisticated features in automobiles at lower costs requires a growing number of interconnected electronics in each vehicle and challenges automakers to leverage modern technologies. With a single tool that supports all of the automotive busses, the OptoLyzer Studio software serves the needs of the teams of designers, developers, testers and system integrators required to bring sophisticated automotive systems to market in a timely manner.

“Automotive engineers are continually grappling with challenges such as shorter development cycles and higher design complexity,” said Matthias Karcher, Senior Manager, K2L. “Our OptoLyzer Studio GUI software offers them a comprehensive and easy-to-use tool chain that addresses these issues and performs as needed, every time, for all applications and use cases.”

K2L provides several different editions of its OptoLyzer Studio software that enable customised function ranges for specific use cases. The Entry Edition is available today for $390, and can be used with Microchip’s CAN BUS Analyzer Tool.
