Colour starter kit introduced for new embedded controller from Micro-Robotics

Micro-Robotics has introduced a starter kit, with full-colour touch-screen display, for use with its new VM2 embedded controller that was introduced in 2009 to replace the highly successful VM1 controller that has been the company’s flagship product for the past five years.

The new kit consists of a Hitachi 5.7 QVGA (320 x 240) colour TFT display, a model that sets the standard for this type of unit, with an integral four-wire resistive touch screen. Also included is a VM2 controller, Venom2 language, an application board and power supply. The application board is designed to mount on the back of the display unit to allow users to develop bespoke applications quickly and easily with a minimum of effort and cost.

The VM2 is smaller than its predecessor, measuring only 52mm x 48mm, costs some 15% less, is considerably more powerful, 15 times faster and has very low power consumption bringing many advantages to designers of modern control systems.
