BWRVIP component laser scanning/3D CAD model
Newton is now providing accurate BWRVIP component laser scanning/3D CAD model services.
As BWR Reactor Internals age degradation components such as Steam Dryers, Access Hole Covers, Jet Pumps, Core Spray and Core Shroud may require repairs or replacement for extended life operations. Many times, existing as-built documentation is not adequate to design and ensure the replacement hardware will fit properly without critical path impact.
Newton now provides 3D CAD Models of critical BWR Reactor Internals with 5 mils accuracy utilising the proven NM200UW Laser Scanning System. In addition to improved accuracy Newton Laser Scanning rapid delivery method reduces critical path compared to other measurement systems.
The resulting CAD Model will be provided during the outage. The Laser Scan is performed and outputting a CAD model placing the Utility in full control of the design information required for potential modifications and engineering analysis.
