Analog Devices Offers Up To 60% Savings On Blackfin Processor Development Tools, Easing Costs While Expediting Product Development

Today at Embedded World, Analog Devices, Inc. announced a discount of up to 60% off standard development-tool pricing for embedded developers designing products based on ADI’s high performance Blackfin® processor platform. Delivering exceptional price/performance and energy efficiency, Blackfin 16/32-bit processors enable engineers to advance the performance, functionality and connectivity of any application that benefits from a combination of digital signal processing and control processing in a unified architecture.

Discounted “bundles” available in the program consist of ADI’s Visual DSP++ ® Integrated Development and Debugging Environment (IDDE), plus an option for either a high performance USB or low cost JTAG emulator.

Streamlining a design’s time to market, Analog Devices’ VisualDSP++ IDDE suite of solutions offers developers:

* A fully integrated user interface including project management, debugging, profiling, and plotting

* Support for a variety of debug targets (emulation, simulation, compiled simulation, and 3rd party offerings)

* A C/C++ compiler, assembler (with C data type support), expert linker, and loader

* A VisualDSP++ Kernel (VDK) with multiprocessor messaging capability

The Blackfin development tools discount program is available from March 1, 2011, through April 30, 2011. Customers have two bundle purchase options: Bundle option one includes VisualDSP++ IDDE (VDSP-BLKFIN-PC-FULL) and the high performance USB Emulator (ADZS-HPUSB-ICE) for $2995 (a 60% price reduction) and bundle option two which includes VisualDSP ++ IDDE with a low cost emulator (ADZS-ICE_100B) for $1995 (a 45% price reduction).

In addition to the development tool bundle discounts, Analog Devices is also offering a $50 discount on Blackfin EZ-KIT® Lite evaluation kits and Blackfin EZ-Board development boards.
